Wong Kalang In their early life in Kendal Regency, they implemented harmony with the environment for harmony with nature. Their early life began in a peri-peri kingdom of Mataram Islam in the western region. The migration of the population was an increase in welfare for the community by the King of Mataram Islam Sultan Agung. Most of them are wong Kalang who have strong agricultural skills to cultivate the initial land. The Kendal area is a coastal area in the north and hills in the south. Below the hills is a flat area in the form of swamps. This swamp area is suitable for use as a rice field farming area. The beginning of the settlement was marked by the division of the area as follows: 1) Settlements; 2) Agriculture; 3) Cemeteries. Three main priorities are prioritized in establishing an area for settlements. The reasons for these three facilities are as follows: 1) Settlements as the main place for the wong Kalang crew to live. Life activities are in the Limasap house which they build with the Kalang tradition. 2) Agriculture is the daily activity of the wong Kalang. In early life, a plot of land has been prepared for agriculture which is used to meet their living needs. This has not been thought about selling agricultural products. 3) The cemetery is land used to bury the bodies of the Kalang people who have died. This idea is based on the fact that life will end in death. In the Kalang tradition, people who have died will go to nirvana (heaven) and achieve perfection. Thus, the cemetery land is the main thing in settlement planning. The conclusion of this study is that the Kalang people have traditionally prepared settlements that will meet their living needs without depending on others.
